RQT Plugin Not Opening First Time

Hello All, I am working on an RQT plugin. When I try to open it from the Plugins menu, it doesn't appear the first time. When I try again, the plugin appears. Both show up in the running tab, and both print to the console, but the first one always doesn't show up. Any idea what I am doing wrong?
